Did you know that South Walton FL is home to endangered sea turtles? The Loggerhead and Green sea turtles make their way onto the beaches May through October to lay their eggs.
During nesting season, it is important to keep the beaches Clean, Dark and Flat.
* Clean: removing everything you brought to the beach including trash, food, chairs and toys.
* Dark: keep lights off, using sea turtle-friendly lighting and red LED flashlights if necessary.
* Flat: fill up all holes and knockdown sandcastles before leaving the beach.
